Walking Trails

Livingstone And Vic Falls

Activity Description

This activity starts at the Zambian side of the Falls and guests are then walked across the mostly dry waterfall to Livingstone Island itself, in the heart of Victoria Falls. This is the spot where Dr. David Livingstone first viewed the waterfall and famously exclaimed that ‘scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight.’

Once on the island, guests can go for a swim on the very edge of the Falls in the infamous Devil’s Pool. You are also offered water or soft-drinks for a moment of refreshment before making your way back to the Zambian mainland on foot.

Victoria Falls is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and among the most spectacular sights in all of Africa. The walk across the Falls is an incredibly unique way to experience this bucket-list destination, but it is often very warm and a certain level of fitness is required. Only confident swimmers are able to do the Devil’s Pool experience.
