Customer Reviews

Had an amazing time. Simon was excellent. Climb out the gorge was pretty intense and not something fully prepared for. - Kerry-Ann Shipp

Hello We enjoyed some aspects of our cruise. The boat was great, the staff lovely and the scenery beautiful. There was only one thing that was quite majorly disappointing for me and it is a piece of feedback that I would like to put to both you and the other companies.... The feedback is that I felt that the boat we were on, as well as the other boats on the river, got too close to the animals and even cornered them at times. I understand that this was in the interests of ensuring guests get as close as possible and get great photos but I found this unacceptable. It is a wild area and the nature should come first. At one time there was a small herd of elephants trying to cross a section of the river but they were surrounded on both sides by boats and their way was completely blocked. This distressed me. Based on this, I wouldn't do this river cruise again, nor would I recommend it to others as I think it would be perpetuating an inappropriate conservation practice. Instead I would like to hear about rules governing boats on the river in a way that protects the wildlife - similar to how whale watching boats are moderated in South Africa. I would then re-consider. I hope that this feedback will be heard and that you will share it in the appropriate forums. Thank you very much - Laura Wylie

It was pleasant. However, we didn't see much of anything. Sunset was nice. Overall, not worth the cost. - Jim and Marie Hogan

The operator picked us up from Mopani Lodge later than we expected so were worried we'd been forgotten. Once on board we were given a table at the back near the Captain's wheel. This turned out to be a good thing because our Captain had a very good knowledge of bird life and was able to identify many for us. The hippos were a little hard to see because of the height of the river water but the rainbow in the mist of the 'falls' was lovely to see. The small tray of food was adequate but not hot. The selection of drinks was fine for us since we weren't interested in the alcoholic ones on offer. The sunset was beautiful and overall it was a quiet relaxing evening. Good value for money. - Lois Tovey

Pleasant. I was coming a few days after being in Mana Pools, so I thought it a bit touristy. But sweet. I really got a fine sense of the Zambezi and the MC on the boat was terrific. The snacks could come twice though, since they are shared between four people. The wine was welcome. I was amazed to find both human and mammalian terrific company on both sides of the islandish feel and of course the sunset is wonderful. - Tisha Srivastav
